2010 Spring Meeting

The Kansas Honey Producers Association held their spring meeting in Hays, Kansas on Friday, March 5th and Saturday March 6th. Guest speakers were Dr. Marion Ellis of Lincoln, Nebraska and John Talbert of Josephine, Texas. This meeting included a great deal of beginning beekeeping concepts—just good old basic information and a concurrent program for more experienced beekeepers.

John J. Talbert

John is the owner of Sabine Creek Honey Farm in Josephine, Texas. He grew up on a dairy farm in McLennan County near Waco. John attended UT Austin and graduated with a BS in Mechanical Engineering. He’s been a beekeeper since 1985 and past President of the Collin County Hobby Beekeepers Association, past President of Texas Beekeepers Association (TBA), and current Chairman of the TBA State Fair Booth Committee. He is Blake Shook’s mentor.

Dr. Marion Ellis
