  • Spring Feeding

    (For brood buildup)
    1:1 Mixture (sugar:water)
    Mix one part sugar to one part water by weight OR volume

    One 4 pound bag of sugar mixed with TWO quarts of warm water. Mix until fully dissolved.

  • Fall Feeding

    (For winter storage)
    2:1 Mixture (sugar:water)
    Mix two parts of sugar to one part water by weight OR volume

    One 4 pound bag of sugar mixed with ONE quart of warm water. Mix until fully dissolved.

  • Sugar Candy Recipe

    10 pounds of white granulated sugar
    8 ounces (one cup) of warm water

    Mix well. You now have “wet sugar”. Make slabs on wax paper to fit under the inner cover. Let them sit at room temperature overnight. Next day they will be hard as brick.
